Day 2 of #yarnlovechallenge – Close-upBesides knitting I'm also spinning since 2003 and my close-up shows yarns that I spun during a few Maker Faire events here in Calgary. It's wool from unknown lawn mowers and I just dyed it in pretty bright and neon colours as I was trying out new dyes at the same time. It's the most fascinating for kids when they see and watch me spin.
Day 1 of the #yarnlovechallenge One day late but here I am. My name is Annekatrin, short Anne or I even listen to Anna. Originally I'm from Leipzig, Germany and moved to Calgary, Canada over 9 years ago. Knitting has been my medium to find like minded people when I was first new here. It worked. I learned how to knit in grade 5 in school. Growing up in East Germany it was part of a class in crafts in most schools. After that I did knit on and off for a few years. Started at a sweater at 16 and finished with 19. Went on a hiatus, picked up the needles again in 2002 and have been knitting ever since. During the day I work as an Project Accountant and SRED Analyst while going to school at night. If I'm not working, studying or knitting I love to dance (kizomba, bachata, Salsa & tango), cook and hike if I find my way to the mountains.
So not going to miss this place. Still staying in the hood though #byebye #newyear #newbeginning #freshstart #lifeisgood #lifeiswarm
Office kitchen window winter sunrise. It looks even better in person. #nofilter #sunrise #goodmorning
Trying out a new coffee shop for the monthly german-knitting-coffee meetup. #coffee #local #yyc #friends #knitting
Never too old for your own Advent calendar. It's still a surprise when you close your eyes while filling. And you can make your own rules and put as much as fits into the bigger ones. Also, I kinda like the North American version with 25 days :) #adventcalendar #childhoodmemories #nevertooold
You know your cold is getting worse when you find yourself making "onion juice"… #ihatecolds #nocoughingplease #isoveralready
