Vor einer Weile bin ich an einen Picker geraten, den ich mir mit meiner Freundin teile. Als wir ihn endlich in Besitz nehmen konnten, stellte sich raus, dass es sich um einen Pat Green Triple Picker handelt! Anfang August hatte ich mal genug Zeit am Stueck, um ihn in Ruhe auszuprobieren und hab’ ein Shetland Vlies bearbeitet.
A while ago I scored a picker that I’m sharing with my friend. When we finally received it we found out that it is actually a Pat Green Triple Picker! At the beginning of August I had enough time in a row (yeah for long weekends! 😉 ) so that I could test it and process one of my washed shetland fleeces.

Es kommt schon eine Menge Dreck dabei raus. / There is already a lot of the dirt falling out while picking.
Und danach nimmt das Vlies viel mehr Platz weg als vorher. / And afterwards the fleece needs a lot more space than before.
Ich hab’ im Anschluss gleich probiert, das frisch gepickte Vlies zu kardieren und das war traumhaft einfach im Vergleich zu einem muehsam per Hand aufgelockerten und dann kardierten Vlies. Der Holzwurm wuenschte sich, dass wir den Picker schon vor unserem Umzug gehabt haetten als er sich die Muehe gemacht hatte alle meine Vliese zu kardieren.
Right after picking I made a test with carding the picked fleece and it was amazingly easy compared to the hand picked and carded fleeces I processed before. The woodworm was wishing we had the picker already before our move when he was carding all my fleeces.
